Hemus Print Campaign - demo artwork

The brief

Eight formats, three printers, one deadline. Previous campaigns had been redesigned per format and drifted apart in the process.

The approach

We designed the rule, not the poster. A proportional grid that resolves at any aspect ratio meant every format was a placement decision rather than a design job.

One proportional grid

Defined by ratio rather than millimetres, so it holds from 6-sheet to A6.

Design the extremes first

Billboard and business card designed before anything in between. The middle sizes then had nowhere to go wrong.

Supervise the print

Press checks at all three printers. Two colour builds were corrected on the day.

Selected frames

The result

Eight formats produced from one master in under a fortnight, colour-matched across three printers.

For once the small format did not look like an afterthought.
